After breakfast, continue your ascent as the trail transitions from rainforest to moorland. Pass through stunning landscapes dotted with giant heathers and groundsels, with views of Mawenzi Peak in the distance. Arrive at Horombo Hut (3,720 meters), where you’ll settle in for the night.

Spend the day at Horombo Hut, giving your body extra time to adjust to the altitude. Take a short acclimatization hike to Zebra Rocks or Mawenzi Saddle for stunning views and a better chance of summit success. Return to Horombo Hut for dinner and rest.

Depart Horombo Hut and trek across the alpine desert towards Kibo Hut (4,700 meters). The terrain becomes more rugged, but the panoramic views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks keep you motivated. Upon arrival at Kibo Hut, rest and prepare for your midnight summit attempt.

Accommodation: Kibo Hut

Begin your summit attempt around midnight, ascending through rocky terrain to Gilman’s Point (5,681 meters) before continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters). Watch the sunrise from Africa’s highest point, taking in the awe-inspiring views. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut.

On your final day, descend through the lush rainforest to Marangu Gate. Celebrate your successful trek with a certificate presentation and a transfer back to Arusha or Moshi.
